Who these templates are for
Retail shops, trading companies, small warehouses, restaurants, e-commerce sellers and anyone outgrowing a notebook but not ready for a full inventory system.
Getting started in four steps
- List your items with SKU, description, unit, cost and selling price.
- Enter opening stock from a physical count.
- Record every purchase and sale, or update quantities daily.
- Set a reorder level for each item and let the template flag what to buy.
Tips for accurate stock
Count your fastest-moving or most valuable items more often than the rest (that's what ABC analysis is for), investigate any variance above a set tolerance, and keep damaged and expired stock in a separate log so your stock value stays honest. For food, cosmetics and medicines, use first-expiry-first-out (FEFO) with the batch and expiry tracker.

Frequently asked questions
How many items can the inventory tracker handle?
Hundreds of rows work smoothly, and you can extend the table further. For tens of thousands of SKUs, a dedicated inventory system is a better fit.
Can several people use it at once?
Yes. Upload it to Google Sheets or OneDrive and share it. Everyone sees the same live file.
Does it calculate stock value?
Yes. Stock value is quantity multiplied by unit cost, and totals update automatically. The weighted-average costing template handles changing purchase prices.
Can I use barcodes?
You can type or scan barcodes into the SKU column with any USB barcode scanner, which works like a keyboard.
