UAE Business Templates: VAT, Gratuity & More

Templates built around how business actually works in the UAE. Estimate VAT and corporate tax, work out end-of-service gratuity and final settlements, track post-dated cheques and rent cheques, and stop staff visas and company documents from expiring unnoticed. Each file is made by a Dubai-based team and works in Excel, Google Sheets or Word.

Who these templates are for

UAE small business owners, office and HR managers, accountants and bookkeepers, landlords and property managers, and anyone who needs a quick, reliable working file rather than an expensive system.

How the key calculators work

Gratuity: enter basic salary, joining date and last working day. The calculator applies the common private-sector rule of 21 days' basic pay per year for the first five years and 30 days per year after that, with the total cap, and shows the working step by step.

VAT: record standard-rated and zero-rated sales and purchases for the period, and the calculator works out output VAT, recoverable input VAT and the net amount payable or refundable.

Corporate tax: start from accounting profit, add back or deduct adjustments, and see an estimate using the 0% band and the 9% rate above the threshold.

Important: these templates are planning and record-keeping tools. Rules change and individual cases differ, so confirm figures with your accountant, the FTA or MOHRE before filing or paying.

Frequently asked questions

Is the gratuity calculator up to date with the current UAE Labour Law?

It follows the commonly applied private-sector rules (21 days per year for the first five years, then 30 days, with a cap). Inputs are editable, so you can adjust for contract terms. Always confirm final settlements with MOHRE guidance or your adviser.

Can I use the VAT calculator for my FTA return?

It helps you prepare and check the figures by period. The FTA portal is where you file, and an accountant should review anything unusual.

Do these work in Arabic?

The templates are in English. You can type Arabic text into any cell or field, and Excel, Google Sheets and Word all support right-to-left text.

Are amounts in AED?

The templates are currency-neutral. Type AED or any other currency into the currency cell and every calculation still works.
